Two brothers are set to take on the lucrative hangover cure market by introducing their new product to Scotland.

Brothers Scott (32) and Ryan (29) Morrison from Paisley are launching B4s (Befores), a proven natural detoxifying recipe used widely in the United States, which among other health benefits, eases the effects of hangovers. Scott explains:

“My brother used to suffer from really bad hangovers, so much so that I decided to look in to some cures. Neither of us really drink that much, so the effect that little alcohol had on Ryan really surprised me.

“I looked in to lots of weird and wacky cures online, as well as scientific research to find out why Ryan was suffering more than anyone else and it was then I came across a carbon based hangover cure which promised to work. I ordered some from the US and got Ryan to try it, and it worked.”

The brothers soon shared their find with their friends and before long were ordering the product, which is classed as a dietary supplement, in bulk for their group

It was in December last year that the duo had their ‘eureka’ moment and decided to launch their own business selling the detoxifying supplement in the UK. With a computer in their bedrooms and the help of the Innovator's Counselling and Advisory Service for Scotland (ICASS), they set to work developing and marketing the product. Scott says:

“B4s work just like the water filters people have in their homes, which also contain carbon. Activated carbon is the only ingredient in the product so it works by trapping impurities before they enter your system, reducing the negative effects of drinking alcohol.

“In fact, activated carbon has been used for over a hundred years in hospitals for treating poison ingestion. It’s known for its purifying qualities and really works.”

The product was created in 1986 after which it spent 10 years in testing. It became available on the market June 1996.

Scott and Ryan, who are currently selling B4s online and in clubs and bars in Paisley and Glasgow, have their sights set on the European market. But Scott insists that their roots are firmly in Paisley.

“We’re just two Paisley guys trying to make a go of it. We really believe in the product and know the business has a long way to go. We’re excited to see what happens in the next few months.
